I’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude lately, and not because of Thanksgiving approaching. It’s been on my mind because Janice, our Office Administrator took it on herself to promote pastor’s appreciation month, which in churches is in October. I was surprised and pleased by all your kind words, cards, and goodies through which you expressed your appreciation of my ministry to you. Thank you! I love this church and am delighted to serve you as your pastor.
Gratitude is a spiritual quality that the Apostle Paul exudes in Philippians:
I thank my God for all the memories I have of you. Every time I pray for all of you, I do it with joy. I can do this because of the partnership we’ve had with you in the Good News from the first day you believed until now. I’m convinced that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it through to completion on the day of Christ Jesus. You have a special place in my heart. So it’s right for me to think this way about all of you. All of you are my partners. Together we share God’s favor…. (1:3-7)
This Thanksgiving, may it be a special time to show appreciation for one another as well as all the blessing God has bestowed upon us.
