Beginning on October 5th, this free 12-session program meets Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 9 pm for family and friends of people with a mental illness. This program, often described as life-changing to those who attend, covers the various illnesses, treatments, and skills in communication, empathy and advocacy. The goal is to help friends and family members understand what their loved one is experiencing, how to support them in recovery and how to take care of themselves and preserve the family.
The course is taught by two NAMI (National Alliance On Mental Illness) trained family members already walking this walk. Registration is required as the class size is limited and supplies must be ordered. Please call Julie at 425-765-2006 or Marti at 360-770-5666 no later than September 30, 2017.
